Progress is also being made on incorporating advanced information systems into stations and other parts of the railway network as a core aspect of the creation of “smart cities” that take advantage of IT. Hitachi has been producing products such as rolling stock, electric power systems, train operation management systems, and passenger reservation systems since the 1920s.
